Lewis and Clark

Paige: I, Meriwether Lewis and my friend, William Clark were asked by president Thomas Jefferson to go explore the Missouri River.

Paige: Clark and I met at a fishing pond. William was moving to Kentucky.

Sam: President Jefferson gave us 2,500 dollars to start the expedition and he hoped we would find a water route to the Pacific Ocean.

Sam: Bears and Indians were some of the problems but without Sacagawea it would have been harder.

Sam: Sacagawea was a young woman who went with us on our expedition threw the United States.

Paige: She showed the other Indians that we came in peace.

Paige: Other problems were people shooting at what they weren’t suppose to such as myself being shot in the BUTT.

Sam: After a long journey we found the Pacific Ocean.

Paige: And made it back safely.

Sam: Now everyone thanks us for discoveries and maps we made.
