WELCOME TO THE BUSINESS DEPARTMENT

Accounting I - The first year of Accounting covers the complete accounting cycle for a sole proprietorship, a partnership, and a corporation.  Various forms and records are introduced for each type of business.  Automated Accounting using the computer is used throughout the year as well as the manual method.  Students in grades 10-12 may register for this class.

Accounting II - The second year continues the study of sole proprietorships and partnerships in a more detailed format.  This class is for seniors.

Introduction to General Business - This course emphasizes personal management and career selection. Each student will learn how to use the Nebraska Career Information System to research colleges and careers. Students in grades 10-12 may register for this class.

Computer Applications- This is a course for any student in grades 9-12 who has completed a Keyboarding course and wants experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint.  A simulation will be completed during the 4th Quarter.

Consumer & Career Education - This one-semester course prepares students to understand their needs, wants, goals and resources that enable them to make rational decisions that contribute to quality of life. Topics included are: budgeting, credit, savings, investments, taxes, consumer buying, consumer rights and responsibilities, careers, job applications, interviews, and resumes.

Keyboarding - This class is required for all 8th grade students for one quarter.  All letters and symbols of the keyboard as well as mouse control will be covered.

Keyboarding - 7th graders will take this course for one semester to learn and review touch typing.  Emphasis will be placed on technique for efficient keyboarding.
