ESU #8 High School Art Show, Best of ShowHIGH SCHOOL ART SHOW RESULTS

The ESU #8 High School Art Show was held in Neligh at the Riverside Park Pavillion from April 21st - 23rd. There were over 800 pieces on display from 16 schools. These schools included: Battle Creek, Clearwater, Elgin, Elkhorn Valley, Ewing, Madison, Neligh-Oakdale, Norfolk Junior High, Norfolk Senior High, O'Neill, Orchard, Plainview, Pope John, Stanton, Verdigre, and West Holt.

Randel Anderson, Artist and Instructor from Norfolk, judged the show. He chose an oil painting (pictured on the right) as the Best of Show. The artist is Ciera Kracl, a senior at O'Neill Public. Her Art Instructor is Kevin McNichols.

SPRING ELEMENTARY ART FESTIVAL RESULTS

The ESU #8 Elementary Art Show was held April 11-16th with over 300 attendees.

In recognition of ESU #8's 40th year of service to schools, former ESU #8 Art Consultant, Ray Ahrens, judged the entries. Ray started the ESU #8 Art Program in 1969.

Pictured above is Ray placing a purple Best of Show ribbon on fifth grader, MacKenzie Wisemen's bicycle painting. She received the Upper Elementary Best of Show honor. She is a student of Mary Pfanstiel at Neligh-Oakdale.

Ray chose fourth grader, Jordan Murray's artwork as the Lower Elementary Best of Show piece. Jordan is also a student of Mary Pfanstiel at Neligh-Oakdale.

The mission of Educational Service Unit #8 is to provide educational leadership and services that improve teaching and learning through quality partnerships. Located in Neligh, Nebraska, Educational Service Unit #8 is an intermediate agency providing supplementary services to K-12 school districts. This Unit serves Antelope, Boyd, Holt, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, and Wheeler counties.
