The BIG PAGE of Special Education Links contains links to many sites that might be useful to educators who work with students that have special needs. Communicative Disorders College of Health and Human Services, San Diego State University. Deafness/Hard of Hearing from the Mining Company Emory University's (Atlanta, GA) Biomedical Internet Resources eSCORE provides special education content and markets toys for students with disabilities. This site was launched in January to provide parents with basic facts about learning disabilities. Instant Access Treasure Chest for learning disabilities. LD Online features the ABC's of learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder (ADD), a national calendar of LD-related events, audio clips from experts and researchers, artwork and essays by children with learning differences, research findings, bulletin boards, a resource guide, and indepth information on dyslexia and ADD. Internet Resources for Special Children The National Center to Improve Practice was formed to promote the use of technology for improving educational opportunities for students with physical and social/emotional disabilities. This site is broken down into three links:
Nebraska Assistive Technology Project (ATP) is a resource for individuals with disabilities, their family and friends, professionals, employers, teachers, and people who help others. School Psychology Resources Online is your "one-stop source" of links to online resources related to anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorder (ADD), autism, behavior and conduct disorders, deaf and hard of hearing disorders, learning disabilities, mental retardation, mood disorders, stress management, substance abuse, suicide, and Tourette's disorder. This valuable resource is maintained by Sandra Steingart, a school psychologist in Maryland. Special Child is a web site designed to provide educational resources and emotional support to parents and care-givers of children, adolescents, and young adults with disabilities. The Department of Special Education at The University of Kansas provides a variety of professional opportunities for students committed to the improvement of lifestyles for children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Special Needs Education (SNE) Network provides Internet services specific to educators, parents, schools, and other professionals involved in the education of students with special needs. SNE recognizes that educators and others working with special needs students benefit from intensive collaboration extending outside their school systems, including care providers and educators reachable via the Internet. |
