ACADEMIC QUIZ BOWLS!

Both Quiz Bowls will be held at the American Legion Hall in Neligh.

JUNIOR HIGH/MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMIC QUIZ BOWL (Grades 6-8) will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 starting at 9:00 a.m.

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC QUIZ BOWL (Grades 9-12)
will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 starting at 9:00 a.m

Florence Turner Karlin Scholarship
for Graduate Students in Education

The Lincoln Community Foundation is pleased to announce that scholarships are available this year for teachers seeking graduate degrees in education.

Applicants must be former graduates of any high school in Nebraska. Applicants must attend a college or university in Nebraska and have a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale. Students who meet the criteria are welcome to apply, no matter how long they have been out of school since receiving their bachelor’s degree. Applicantions are due to our office on or before May 15th.

This scholarship may be used for college credit courses only and cannot be used for workshops, seminars or similar types of training opportunities.

You are welcome to share this information with teachers in your school district and to publicize it through your district’s newsletter or other publications.

Teahers who are interested in applying for the Karlin scholarship may visit our website at www.lcf.org. Scholarship information can be located by selecting “scholarships” on the left side of our homepage. Students may then access the guidelines and application materials by typing in “Florence Turner Karlin” in the search field. They may also call our office at 474.2345 for application materials.
