Honoring the Past, Celebrating in the Present, and Looking to the Future!
The ESU #8 main office building was erected in 1901 (pictured below).
- Back in 1901, this main building was the home of F. E. Geisker, Machinery, Carriages & Wagons.
- The upper level of the ESU #8 Main Office building was originally a dance hall.
- Over the years, ESU #8 expanded its central office to the north, purchasing a former Gambles store and a shoe store.
- Prior to moving to Neligh in 1986, the Central Learning Center was located in Tilden, Nebraska.

ANGEL Training Held at ESU #8
Last month, approximately 40 area teachers and staff attended ANGEL training at ESU #8. ANGEL is a web-based software that allows teachers to create and manage classes online. The name ANGEL is an acronym for “A New Global Environment for Learning.”
This was the third of four ANGEL training sessions that have been hosted by ESU #8. Doug Zauha, Executive Director, and Eric Smith, Systems Administrator, from myeLearning.org of Nebraska were the presenters. |
ANGEL was created to meet the following needs for all educational institutions:
- Professional Development
- State Standards Alignment to Class Content
- Virtual Classes
- Parent-School Communication
- Manage, Develop and Enrich Traditional Instruction
