21st Century Learning With Ken Kay

This workshop will focus on why 21st Century Skills are important, what life and career skills are to be targeted and how educators can promote or incorporate 21st Century Skills in daily instruction. Sessions will include a whole group presentation, as well as a number of breakout sessions, including: Constructing a Rubric for Grading; Assessment; C & I; Professional Development; Incorporating 21st Century Skills and Action Plans.
Ken Kay, President of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills
Mr. Kay is the chairman and co-founder of Infotech Strategies, Inc. and leads Infotech’s Education Technology practice. He has been a major voice in defining the potential and promoting the importance of information technology applications in critical areas such as education, health care, electronic commerce and government services. Prior to founding Infotech, Ken was a principal of Podesta Associates, Inc. after spending nearly ten years as a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Preston Gates Ellis & Rouvelas Meeds. Ken spent more than eight years on Capitol Hill, serving as Legislative Director to Senator Max Baccus, Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Legislative Assistant to Congressman Ed Koch.
He is the president of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, an organization of both the public and private sectors working with stakeholders to reach consensus on how 21st Century Skills should be incorporated into K-12 curriculum.
