John Deere

Before I invented the self-cleaning plow one farmer I knew had to change his team of oxen three or four times a day. I John Deere made a plow that stayed clean when you plowed the earth. I was born & raised in Vermont. I helped a blacksmith work on things brought to him from farms. When I was 18 I became a blacksmith apprentice. People used to complain to me about the wooden plows they had. I became partners with Major Andrus and we built a large two-story factory. A descendant of mine invented the green tractors we know of today.
