My time with Sheila
Dear Diary,
This is Ariel again. Today is Friday, and today I get to spend time with Sheila! I heard that she needs a friend. Well, I am perfect for the job! This morning we said the Pledge of Allegiance, like we do each and every day.

Next we got our things and went to Math. While Sheila was doing Mastering Math Facts, I was helping Mollie with Accelerated Math. Whoa! There are a lot of multiplication problems that these fifth graders have to work! Next is Social Studies where the kids studied for a test.
In Music we sang songs and I tried out Mrs. Jenning’s piano.

After that we went to Reading and Science. In reading they did “Nine Good Habits” which helps us learn how to read nonfiction material.
After lunch, where I didn’t eat anything, I went to Project Success with Sheila. The teacher is Mr. Morrow from the high school. During this class, Sheila, Andrew, and Danielle, and I got to go to Dairy Queen because we had met our weekly goal! The ice cream sure was cold on this cold day!

In Language Arts we corrected our Vocabulary workbook and took a quiz, and also did some things on the Palms.
Next we went to Enrichment Clusters. These are special classes that our school has for 4th-6th grades each spring. The kids get to take classes in areas of interest different from regular school. Sheila’s cluster was about strategy and they learned a little about how to play chess! The kids will go to their Cluster class each Friday for 6 weeks and then have a Cluster Fair to show everyone what they learned. How fun!
We finished the day by getting our Friday folders and I sadly told Sheila “Goodbye.”
