Hi it is me again, Ariel. Today I was with Heidi. Heidi told me that today is her birthday and she wanted me to help her celebrate. Let me tell you about my awesome day with Heidi. At first I thought Heidi didn’t want me because she walked right by the desk where Jason left me. Rylee had to remind Heidi to get me. Even though she forgot me, I still like her.
After Heidi picked me up, she took me to math class in Mrs. Young’s classroom. “ The math the kids were doing was so hard that it gave me a headache. I didn’t feel so bad though when Heidi told me that she couldn’t figure it out and that she felt the same.
Luckily for me math class was over and we were moving to social studies. In social studies, we corrected worksheets. I got a 100%, Yahoo!! I was so excited it was the first paper I had done. When Mrs. Young saw my paper she told me I better study for the test on Friday. Guess what she gave me, a sticker. I was so excited that I flew up in the air and did the splits. 5A thought it was a great show but Mrs. Young told me I needed to settle down. The kids then read some pages about colonial Americans. When we were reading I heard someone call my name out. Heidi told me it was my turn to read. I started to freak when I couldn’t figure out the first word. Mrs. Young said I could pass if I didn’t want to read. I decided to pass in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I didn’t get to hear all about the colonial Americans because math was so hard we ran out of time.
Soon after it was time to go to music. Luckily today Heidi did not have PE. Otherwise I would have had to go see that old grump. I had lots of fun in music. They worked on repeating beats. The only bad thing about music is it reminded me that the kids had band and that Mr. Dean would probably do something weird to me again.
Just after I thought about Mr. Dean, Heidi swooped me off her chair and lined up. I could slowly hear the kids getting softer and softer until as all I could hear was the ticking of the clock. Then Heidi walked me quietly down the hall. As we walked I could smell the smell of soup, my favorite.
Right after my slow walk down the hall, Heidi and I went to reading. In reading they had their reading discussion. I listened to the Strider group and made a few comments.
Yes! Next comes science. Science was a blast. They got their test back and then started working on a computer game. Today they started to learn about minerals. When they were playing the game my name was pulled. That meant I got to touch the smart board. It was so fun. I made Heidi take a picture of me.
Before I knew it, it was time for lunch. Heidi told me that we were going to Subway. That was a little sad, because that meant I couldn’t have soup. At Subway Heidi ordered a six-inch Italian BMT and some chips. Heidi let me try some of her sandwich, but I thought it was too meaty. While we were at Subway, Heidi saw her old neighbors, Roger and Sharon Lang. Heidi’s dad talked for a while. He had to quit talking so he could get Heidi and I back to school. We screeched up to the school’s parking lot and Heidi and I dashed out and went back to school.
It was time for art. In art the kids worked on dry brush technique. Heidi told me I couldn’t paint because she didn’t want me to get my fur dirtier.
After art the kids went to Language Arts, my favorite class. In language they did their every day stuff, and then worked on research for their biography projects.
Oh No! It was band time. Heidi got her clarinet and hustled down the hall to the band room. As soon as Mr. Dean saw me, he went nuts. He started dancing around the room with me, and throwing me up in the air like a cannon. Heidi grabbed me in a minute from Mr. Dean and made sure that he wouldn’t get a hold of me again. They played many songs and then Mr. Dean made Heidi and I go up in the front of the room. The band played Happy Birthday for Heidi.
The song was over, band was over, and the group headed back to their homerooms for the end of the day. Heidi and I worked on fixing Heidi’s Nebraska history project to make it a souvenir for me.
Right after school was out we headed to singers. In singers they sang many songs and talked about their trip to Albion.
Immediately after singers, Heidi went to basketball practice. At basketball practice, they worked on left handed lay-ups, dribbling, rebounding, and many more basketball techniques. At the end of basketball practice, Heidi’s mom got us out of running by bringing a surprise birthday cake. Everyone sang to Heidi and Heidi cut and served the cake to the girls.
With only 30 minutes time to eat, Paige asked her mom if we could go with them to Subway to eat and then do homework at her grandma’s before dance. At Subway Heidi ordered the same thing she had for lunch. I decided not to eat this time. After Heidi had taken the first bite of her sandwich, she glanced up at the clock. Oh No! It was already almost time for dance. So we skipped the homework, and hurried off to dance.
In dance Heidi balanced me on the exercise bar while they practiced for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. But after I fell off once, Heidi put me on a chair. But unfortunately someone didn’t see me, and sat down right on me. I started screaming for help!!! Heidi came and saved me.
The fun was over. Dance had ended. It was time to pack up and go home. Heidi was very excited to go home because she knew she could open her birthday presents. The first present she opened was from Brad Krysl and his boys. They gave her Tuits for the movie. Jill Krysl gave her scrapbooking supplies. Her parents gave her some orange and yellow flower pillows to match her bedroom, and she received a computer scrap-booking program from her grandparents that live in Arizona. Her little brother, Tyson, gave her a necklace. Her last gift wouldn’t fit in a sack so she had to close her eyes. It was a sleeping bag that she had asked for.
Before I knew it was 10:00 pm and Heidi hadn’t even read me a story yet. Heidi’s mom told her it was past her bedtime and mine too. So Heidi read me a short story and tucked me her new sleeping bag next to her bed. I had a great time with Heidi and I hope my birthday is as lively and fun as Heidi’s was.
