Attention all Year 5 students! Muggles and wizards alike, you have been chosen to receive this owl post (and it is NOT a “howler”!) to announce the exciting times that are awaiting you in 5A. Hogwarts (O’Neill Elementary) is gearing up for the fall term, and they are looking forward to YOU coming to learn. Your main advisor will be “Professor” Morrow along with a highly talented staff of 5^th grade instructors to cover all specializations. Some of the exciting things to look forward to for this year include:

· Accelerated Reader

· Accelerated Math

· School News TV production

· Lots of great new computers!

· Fun novel units and books we read together

· Writing activities and creative projects

· Science with “Professor” Hayes

· Social Studies with “Professor” Young

· Many other exciting events which make Year 5 (5^th grade) the best year possible!

The first day of our session will begin August 20^th at 9:00 a.m. Be prepared to reach into the sorting hat to find out which house you will belong to at Hogwarts. Remember your supplies but remember to limit yourself to those supplies allowed… (please leave all extra pets and poltergeists at home!) Bring your mind, open and ready for learning, and a smile, and get ready for an exciting ride as we experience this magical adventure in learning together!
