``A horse never knows who may buy him, or who may drive him.’’
A horse named Black Beauty lives with his wise mother and other horses
and colts In England. Their master is Squire Gordon. After Black Beauty is
broken in he gets sold to a new master. John Manly and James Howard are the
stable handlers. Then James is asked to be a stable hand somewhere else. He goes
and a younger boy named Joe Green. Once Joe forgot to put on Black Beauty’s
warm blanket , it was chilly outside, so he got sick cause he got very cold. But
he got help then got back to himself. Black Beauty was not mad at Joe because he
knew he was young, he forgot, and he was new, so he forgave him. Not just making
friends with people Black Beauty also made friends with horses. They were:
Merrylegs and Ginger. Then the master’s wife got sick so they had to take her
where she could be helped and they had to sell everything
including the horses! But they took Merrylegs with them. Ginger and Black Beauty
stayed together until they were sold again.Along the way Black Beauty met a
horse named old Captain. Black Beauty met troubles and had high-quality times
also like fine and horrible masters. The nice masters he encountered were John
Manly, Farmer Thoroughgood and his son Willie, James Howard, Squire Gordon, and
Joe Green. No matter what kind of hardships and superior times Black Beauty
encountered he always did his work like he was asked to do!
I think you should read this book because it shows expression and you
feel like your Black Beauty going through these fabulous and tough times. Anna
Sewell makes this story excellent so when you start reading you don’t want to
quit. I like how Anna wrote this book. Any horse lover will fall in love with
