Today's Race Report:

Wake up kids of O'Neill Elementary because it is time to head off to school and get to learning! Imagine that you had to live in school. Well, you don't exactly have to live there but you still can handle coming to school.

Time to line up! My first rotation is Language Arts. First we had Journal Warm-Up. You don't have to write your things in your journal today, though. Instead, you have to make some leads of stories better to catch other people's attention on a worksheet. Then, you can find a partner and work on your organization packet. After that we got to go and think about who we are going to be for the Wax Museum. Make sure that you have practiced your spelling because you have to take your spelling practice test. For homework you have to make up a beginning paragraph for one of the essays; important essay or fairy-tale essay.

Time for second rotation. In second rotation I had Math and Social Studies. In Social Studies, we got to work on venn diagrams about the House of Burgesses and the Mayflower Compact, Jamestown and Plymouth, and Pocahontas and Squanto.

In Math, we had to do our Math Minute in our journals using estimation. We practiced multiplying decimals by whole numbers( 0.06x7 ). Our assignment is R 8-3. Numbers 1-9 is rounding the numbers to the greatest place. Numbers 10-15 is estimating the products and only solving the estimated products.

"My stomach is gurgling and I think that I am going to starve" Everyone in the fifth grade is anxious to have lunch. The lunch menu is home made spagetti with garlic bread, chicken cordon bleu, yogurt, green beans, and fruit and vegetable bar. Then we can finally get to stay inside for recess and play knock-out.

Time to have specials. After specials it is time to go and do your best at band. Hope that everyone played well and sounded good. Now you can get some of your homework done in Study Hall.

Finally, it is time to go to third rotation. My third rotation is Reading and Science. In Reading we had to get into our reading groups and discuss what has been happening in our books. In Science we read about a mineral's color, streak, cleavage, and about using mineral properties on pages E15-E16.We also read about identifying minerals on pages E17-E19. After that we read about diamonds and where they are found. Then we also read about quartz.

"Yeah! It's time to go home! Do you want to come over to my house?" Everyone gets to go home and snack and they also get to have fun with their friends if they wanted to. Well, hope you had another wonderful day at school! Bye and hope to see you at school tomorrow!
