Today's Race Report: 11-5-04 I pledge allegiance.... You know the rest. To start off our Friday I stayed in Mrs. Morrow's room for Language Arts. We started off with a dictionary test covering if we knew how to look up certain words and find the right usage of that word. Also in Language Arts we did word of the day test, which is where we have to find out what the word means. Next we went to 2nd rotation, where we had Social Studies and Math. In Social Studies we read about Christopher Columbus and his three ships: the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria. In Math we checked our pages from the day before and after we did that we did accelerated math, where we worked on measurements. Next we went to 3rd rotation where we talked about our science fair projects. Our science fair projects will be at the end of the year, but we have to start thinking about them now so we can do a good job on them. In Reading we did skills, in which we are working on our comprehension skills. After our skills we went to lunch where we had pizza, hay stacks, mix vegtables, and fruit salad bar and milk. After lunch recess we went to home room and read our A.R. Books and had our study hall. Next was the school carnival for the drug free week or red ribbon week. The fifth grade went to the gymnasium to play the games that the sixth graders made for the event. They had sixteen different stations and I think most of us got to try out about ten of them. For the remaining of the third rotation we finished talking about our science fair projects. We came back to our homeroom and we passed out our Friday folders and got everything ready to go home for the weekend. It was a very fun and educational week here at school. Have a great weekend from all of us here at the 5th grade classroom!!
