Today's Race Report:

Our first day of fifth grade was definitely AMAZING!  We came to school at 9:00 (so we got to sleep in a little for one last day!) and we got to know each other right away.  Mrs. Morrow introduced herself and our new members of 5A and we talked a little about how exciting fifth grade is going to be.

We quietly proceeded down to the gym for Mrs. Shane’s opening assembly.

Mrs. Shane talked about learning the “5 R’s” this year.  Besides “ Reading , ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmatic, she also encouraged us to practice RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY.  She also challenged us to not miss school and told us about class competitions to work for this goal.

Next we came back to our classroom and worked on Power Points to introduce ourselves to Mrs. Morrow and the rest of the 5th grade.

Before we knew it, it was time for lunch!  Lunch was delicious chicken strips or cheeseburgers along with fries and Mrs. Morrow’s favorite food, ICE CREAM!  After playing our favorite games at recess, we came back inside we went over the RULES of fifth grade.

We finished the day with some photos of our class.

Mrs. Morrow said we did such a great job on our first day that we could learn a new game called Silent Ball.  Mrs. Morrow creamed everyone two times! (But said she’ll let us win next time.)  We left school at 1:30, a little sad to go, but excited at what the year has in store.  We’ll see you tomorrow for “THE AMAZING RACE!”
