Today's Race Report: September 27,2004 By. Tasha L. Another week of school only 30 left to go! We started off the week by saluting our flag in the pledge. Then we headed off to our first rotations. Mine was reading. In reading we had a discussion day A discussion day is when we talk about the chapters or pages we read in our books. My group talked about the book Holes. We are starting to learn about non fiction books. The reading groups went very well. In science we got our test over the muscular system back. Even though some people had to do extra credit Mrs Kloppenborg, the science teacher, said everyone did an exqusite job. Next we did our second rotation or music/P.E. In music we finished the musical. The musical was about a grandpa and grandma tell in about their past. When we were lying up we got to listen to the best song "God Bless the USA." During Rotation 2 in social studies we did a three sisters activity. The three sisters are corn, squash, and beans. For that activity we glued a picture of some beans, some corn, and some squash to a green sheet of paper. Then we glued a poem about the three sisters. As a completion of the project we glued a bean seed a corn kernel and a squash seed. I thought that project was fun. In math we did a checkpoint on page 32 and 33. The checkpoint was a review for everyone. It had numbers as small as the thousandths place. Some problems even had rounding. Math was very easy. The best part of the day was next lunch and recess. For lunch recess everybody got to get some fresh air and get some exercise. After recess my class read to Mrs. Robertson's first grade class. At 1:10 the percussion people that were scheduled to go. Till 1:25 everyone still in the homeroom did A.R. At 1:25 the percussion people from band came back and the trombone people went to band. Back to class third rotation came already. I had to go Mrs. Morrow's Language arts class. Since Mrs. Morrow was at a workshop we had Mr. Hedlund. In the middle we saw a person that has not been see in the school all year long. Guess who, it is Mrs. Dean. In language arts we worked on the Eagle Eye News. We also had an assignment it was called end punctuation. Finally the day was over. To me it was busy very busy.
