Have you ever had a major problem? I have this is the story.

Dear Diary, 1-12-1720

It’s me Rachel. How are you doing? Horrible here our reverend died and no one has enough training to teach right now. I’ve chores to do now. Tell you about it in tomorrow’s entry.

Dear Diary, 1-13-1720

Now I’ll tell you about our problem. It all started in December, December 16 to be precise, that day the reverend went to visit Hannah (our neighbor). She greeted him properly they had tea and corn bread together he left as usual. He went to Dorothy’s house (Hannah’s neighbor). The reverend did the same exact thing. He was so tired he couldn’t keep his eyes open so he decided to go home.

That night everybody was in the house and it was freezing even by the fire. Ma was knitting a blanket for Carry (my three-month-old baby sister). Mercy and Cathleen (my 16-year-old sisters) were making hot chocolate with mile and chocolate cookies and I was doing the washing. The fire was like ice and my cat Fluffy’s fur was frozen. She couldn’t move. Well, the reverend was so cold that he was almost froze so Mrs. Witherspoon let him stay for the night. He took the offer but in the morning he was gone really early. So early it wasn’t even morning yet. Every body went looking for him. We finally found him in the lake. Head first. Pa and some guys were talking about how the reverend got in the lake. They finally found it out what happened. They said that he was sleep walking, tripped, and fell in the lake and cracked the ice open and drowned himself and died.

Today I met the new reverend his name is Brian he asked pa to call on me right away tonight at 6:00pm.
