Blinded by the Light
By: Jami D.
On a beautiful sun shining day, I had to wake up at 7:00 A.M. and go to church. We went to church here and not in England because the King said if we did not attend church just one time, he would have sent us away anyway. Every night and day we were reading the Bible so then we would learn a lot form reading the Bible

My family and I set out for church and while we were going I noticed I had a pocket mirror. So while we were in church I aimed the sun on the mirror and hit the reverend on in the face. Well my mom, Catherine didn’t really like that and she got so mad at me I was in my room for a long time plus she scolded me so I knew right from wrong.

When my mother finally let me come out of my room she made me apologize to the reverend. Do you know how embarrassing that was?

While I was visiting Reverend Winterbomb he told me that it is not a hood thing to have a bad saying about church. He told me if I would keep being rude in church that the almighty God would do horrible things to me.

After we had our talk I headed home and when I got there ma had my favorite meatloaf and beans waiting to be devoured by me. I told ma," I am sorry about what happened in church and that I talked to the reverend and he said if I was sorry it was ok."

We ate and then I went to my best friend Lucy’s house. On my way I saw an older kid getting in a fight with a little kid. Well my father always said," Stay in your business stay out of others." So I did. But while I was staying on the path, I was thinking how much I hated that big kid and I know to treat everyone nicely but he was being mean. I new someone was going to get hurt.

Well when I got to Lucy’s she told me that there had been and injury. I just then realized it had to be the younger kid who got hurt. But when we arrived they told us some big kid had got beat up by a little kid and he had a big shiner right on his forehead.

After I got all excited I told Lucy, "Good-bye!" and headed home because ma told me to be home early.

I finally got home and guess what I had to do…. chores. That was the worst thing in that house, my parents were strict and were always making me do chores. I hated that. But everyone in the house had to do something.

I did all my chores as fast as I could so I could do something with my little cute cat who had tiny paws, thin legs, and sparkling eyes.

After that Bliece played with Ma’s yarn and got in trouble. It was as big as a basketball but then ended up to be as big as a marble. The marble size wad was knot to tell you the truth.

I took a bath and because it was getting late and then I would have to go to bed. I splashed just the tiny bit of water that I had in the tub and squeezed the soap through my hands. Then I had to get out.

I said, "Good-night," to Ma and Pa, then headed to bed. After my long, tiring but fun day I had to cuddle in the bed close to Sara and Salamanca because we shared a bed. I said "Good-night", and then I went to bed.
