TALL TALE (TAIL)

By: Mark

"Around and around I was going 30 mph. Then it went under water about 20 yards. I thought that I could not catch them all so I let go and swam back up. That was my BEST fish ever." Jamie didn’t believe she said the only thing I caught was a tall tale.

After school I went to sell fish. It’s hard to sell fish when your only ten and in 1701 but I manage. After that it was off to the Indian River Bay to catch fish. Sunny my dog came with me. I threw my pole and I caught a boat. I reeled it in and hoped on. It started to move by the wind. I was starting to figure out that I was on my way to Cope May. So I started pulling on weeds but they weren’t strong enough. I was one wink away not knowing where I was and then the wind to change her mind. I fell asleep but then aloud noise woke me up. I hit a rock! The boat started sinking so I thew my pole out and reeled my self in. There was a house so I went to knock on the door. "Hello! May I help you?" said a small boy. I asked where I was. He said Cope Henlopen. I asked if I could see a map. By then his mother came and said "sure," and gave em a piece of pie. I was fifteen miles from Indian Riverinlet, then another five miles. At least I wasn’t in Newcastle or even Kent. Well at least thing couldn’t get worse. What would happen if the boat crashed into Cope May… that’s in New Jersey! The mother let me keep the map, but I couldn’t go tonight. She said I had to rest and eat something. Yawn…

It’s morning and I had to get going. Its afternoon and I have made it five miles. I stop to fish and I also caught some extra for the trip ahead of me. I made a decent ten miles by night. In morning I ran out of fish so I fished again, but that’s when it happened. I had caught a rotten log. This was my only chance to get across the bay. Start swimming when I herd my dog baking. I got to shore and stated to walk home.

Mom gave me a hard punishment but she gave me some cupcakes.

The end.
