Internet Applications-ONLINE QUIZ

1. Open up Internet Explorer as your Browser.

2. Go to "Katie's Klass" Links page (should be in your 'bookmarks' or 'favorites').

3. Scroll down to Misc. Goodies and click on Internet Public Library

4. Click on "Youth"

5. Put this page into your Favorites by clicking on Favorites – Add to Favorites – Create in – and your folder name.

6. Click on the link for "Computers/Internet"

7. Scroll down and click on "Computers"

8. Click on "Computer Lessons for Kids and Small Adults"

9. "Download" ( Right-click and choose 'Save Image As') the image of the computer at the top of this page. Make sure you save it to your 3 1/2 in. Floppy A with a name you will remember.

10. Next, click on "Introduction"

11. Starting below the heading, "Why is it good to learn how computers work?", copy all the text (4 paragraphs) (Highlight, then 'Edit-Copy').

12. Now minimize your browser (Internet Explorer) and open up Microsoft Word.

13. Paste the text into Word ('Edit- Paste')

14. ***IMPORTANT***Type your first and last name on the top of this Word document.

15. Insert the picture of the computer by following these steps:

a) Insert-Picture-FromFile

b) Go to where you saved the picture (3 1/2 in. Floppy A:) and insert it

c) Edit the image as needed by using the "handles" in the corners

16. Save the Word document to your floppy disk. (File – Save As – 3 ½ in. Floppy A: - give it a filename like “Internet Quiz”)

17. Print Preview and then Print the document

18. If you have extra time, go back and visit some of the other sites at the IPL Youth Division Site.
