5th Grade
GOAL: To produce an interactive presentation which will teach others about the state of your choice.
TIMELINE: You will have 4-6 weeks to complete this project.
-Computer time (2-3 weeks)
-Production (Hyperstudio) (2-3 weeks)
-On your own: writing and planning throughout
STEPS TO COMPLETION:
1. Print off this
page for a reference and checklist. HOLD ONTO IT!
2. View example of Mrs.
Morrow's finished state project on Nebraska.
3. Search websites for
information on your state.
-download graphics
-print research information
-compile research/ take notes
4. Write report
-You are encouraged to use other sources to do this as well (books, etc.)
5. Plan project
-Write rough draft in storyboard form on notecards
6. Produce Hyperstudio
project
7. Let others view your
project on "State Fair Day"

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
When you are ready for Step #3, here are some
GREAT websites to search for information on your
state. Be on the lookout for fact sheets to print and images to
download. Bookmark any sites that work well for you.
*** You can also ask Mrs. Morrow for a
website address from your particular state. Also, try a Search on
your state and see what you find for information! Remember, dig for the
FACTS and the information you need. Advertising and opinionated material
should be avoided for this project ***
