did. I was born on Christmas day in 1821. I was the only women nurse on the
battlefield because it was considered improper for women to see the fighting.
But I didn’t care. I just wanted to help all the injured soldiers. I was
nicknamed Angel of the Battlefield. I started Red Cross when I was nearly 25.
Today the Red Cross helps millions every year. I lived a full life of 90 years. By Brianna
