Madame Morrow’s
Museum
of
Historical Wax Figures
was held for the third annual year on Tuesday, March 1st at
O’Neill Elementary. People who “made a difference” in the world were
researched and recreated by the fifth grade students. Students read a
biography on a historical figure of their choice, wrote a 1st-person
narrative speech, created a display board and costume and transformed themselves
into their person. Students in grades K-4 and 6 as well as people from the
community visited the museum and dropped change into the can of the frozen
figure they wanted to see “come alive.” Each year the students vote on
where they would like to donate the proceeds from their Wax Museum, and this
year they raised $480.00 for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. This cause
is most special to the class as two of its members deal with Diabetes
themselves. Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Wax Museum,
either with donations or especially their attendance.

This year's Wax Museum proved to be our most educational
and successful one yet! The class voted to donate their proceeds to the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and
was raised for the cause!
