Ahhhhh. Another day at O'Neill Elementary school! How exciting! Today Katie
D. Got to carry me around to see what adventures we could accomplish.
In reading we did an assessment on making inferences. Making inferences is
when you "read between the lines" or guess what they are talking
about. We didn't have science today because of our messed up schedule and
because of clusters.
In social studies we first corrected our worksheet page 66 about the southern
colonies. We also handed in our southern colonies posters that we had all week
to make. Then we read from our new book pages 232 through 236 about the
Carolina's. We didn't have math today but that's okay because it gave us all a
break!
In language arts they did a persuasive writing web about what they wanted to
be able to do at their school that they can't do already. Mrs. Morrow was gone
today so we had Mrs. Sholes. While they did their web, she read Despereaux.
Then they took a language test along with a spelling test. Finally it was time
to line up for either music or P.E. I went to music along with Katie and half of
the other 5th graders. We sang Show Stoppers in the back of our music books.
Since every one was really good we all got a piece of candy. Then we lined up to
go was our hands for lunch.
Yum! For lunch we had pizza or fish nuggets. For sides we had peach cobbler,
milk, and the salad bar. We had twenty minutes to eat then we all went outside
for recess. For recess Katie took me (and I agreed) to the slidy bar thing and
we played there. A little while before they
blew the whistle, we played alligator with the 1st graders. Alligator is a
game where the person that's it can't go on the green playground equipment and
they have to try and tag you. Ring! Oh, that's the bell, time to go in.
