The purpose of the National Honor Society (NHS) is to recognize and encourage superior scholarship.  Students who have a 3.0 (B) cumulative grade point average at the end of the first semester of their sophomore year are eligible for membership.  Grade averages are reviewed for students at the end of the first semester of their junior and senior years and if they meet the 3.0 average they are considered for membership at that time.  Students must maintain a 3.0 average to be a member.

In addition to scholarship, students must exemplify high standards of character, leadership and service to the school and community.  Selection is coordinated by faculty advisors based on recommendations by the entire high school faculty.
