Reading and Math Nights

Math Fun Night

Each fall, Math Fun Night is held to promote the importance of families playing and learning together. All elementary students and their parents are invited to take part in the festivities that feature math games and activities that are fun for people of all ages. Games include: Brain teasers, logic activities, math related card games, Sudoku, Math PLINKO, "Skittles," soccer, and bean bag math, and tasks involving measurement, computation, estimation, graphing, and problem-solving. This fall, 324 adults and children arrived to enjoy our math activities.

Family Reading Night

Every spring, Family Reading Night is held to promote family literacy and to recognize the importance of families reading and spending quality time together. Many O'Neill businesses donate gift certificates, prizes, or money towards the purchase of new books for each student in atttendance. In the spring of 2007, nearly 400 adults and children came to enjoy the reading activities that centered around a pirate theme called "Readers of the Caribbean."
