We consecrate
to Your glory, O God, this
work of our hands & We
Praise You for Your Benevolent Blessings on the Sacrifices of Your People BUILDING UP OUR LEGACY CAMPAIGN Liturgy of Thanksgiving & Celebration

ALL PRAISE & GLORY TO GOD! Let us not forget how we got here ... our mothers and fathers for over 100 years had
built up the legacy of Saint Patrick’s Church and Saint Mary’s School with
faith, prayer and sacrifices. Let us not forget what we set
out to do ... Both the Church and School had a dire need to be brought
up to speed with the 21st century world. After several town hall
meetings, pulpit addresses,
bulletin information, and
letters as well as discussions with the Parish Council, Finance Council and Development Committee, a vote was
taken to
gratefully build up our legacy for our future sons and
daughters for the next 100 years and more. Let us not forget who is ... I remember talking with Alice
Marx, our business manager and
Dorothy Tomjack, our Development Director on the
hope and the scale of the proposed project. “How?” they asked, and we all agreed, “we walk by faith, work like
crazy, and always remember that God is in charge!” Our
Legacy Campaign was launched on the wings of prayer and faith that the Lord
who provided for over one century of blessings would indeed provide for future
generations again, according to His will.

In six short weeks, the bulk of the contacting was
completed, 360
number of donors pledged a total gift of
over $1.2 million!!! “Now
this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, he who sows bountifully will also reap
bountifully. 7Each one must
do just as he has
purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under
compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make
all grace abound to you, so that always having all
sufficiency in everything, you may have
an abundance for every
good deed.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

With this
tremendous gift comes tremendous responsibility. With the collaboration of the Finance and
Pastoral Councils, Don Peters, an alumnus of Saint Mary’s, was chosen as
our architect (Peters and Associates) and under closed bids, RaDec Construction Company from Hartington, under the
able direction of Kelly Lehr, was chosen for the project. Superb talent to get the
job done ... RaDec & Don Peters and our
own talent, Dorothy Tomjack, Alice Marx, and
Clint Morrill have been God’s invaluable gift and guide to me over
these last crazy, hectic, calculated, mind-boggling, inspired and dogged
days of planning &
construction.
